DAY 1 – Moscow at First Glance
Welcome to the Russian capital, Moscow! Upon arrival, you will be met by an excellent guide speaking your native language and transferred to the hotel. On your first day in Russia, you will have dinner in the hotel and also some free time to rest and get used to the time lag.
DAY 2 – Kremlin, Red Square and Heritage of Soviet Architecture
Today you will have an exciting tour around Moscow to get acquainted with the capital. You will see the most famous places of interest, stop by Victory Park, have a look at Moscow State University, a famous tower building – the heritage of Soviet architecture, and admire terrific views standing on the platform for observation on Sparrow Hills.
After lunch, you will enter the Russian must-see place – Kremlin with its ancient cathedrals, preserved from the 15th century, and have a nice walk on Red Square to have a closer look at different objects located on it like St. Basil’s Cathedral, Lenin’s Mausoleum, Spasskaya Tower.
DAY 3 – Holy Trinity Lavra and Moscow Metropolitan
In the morning we set for an ancient Russian city of the Golden Ring – Sergiev Posad. The city was founded in the 15th century. Here we are going to visit the pearl of the Russian Orthodox Church, Holy Trinity Lavra. It holds the relicts of Great Martyr Sergius of Radonezh that makes it a famous place of pilgrimage. During lunch, you can taste traditional Russian food in the original monks’ refectory.
After lunch, we will return back to Moscow and experience a Metro Ride in Moscow Metropolitan, founded in 1935. It is not only the most popular mean of transport used by more than 9 million people every day but also an artwork. .
DAY 4 – Novodevichy Convent and Something More
In the first part of the day, you will visit the Novodevichy convent. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, built in the 16th century in the Moscow Baroque architectural style. Then we will visit Christ the Savior’s Cathedral, a beautiful white church. Before we set for Saint Petersburg, enjoy a walk and souvenir shopping in the main pedestrian street – Arbat Street. The music never stops here. Street dancers, musicians, and painters create a unique atmosphere that you will never forget.
After lunch we head to Saint Petersburg by Sapsan train, the journey takes 4 hours. A local guide will meet you at the railway station and accompany you during the transfer to the hotel.
DAY 5 – Hermitage Collection and Panoramic Tour
Saint Petersburg is an incredible city on the banks of the Neva River. On your first day in this wonderful city, you will enter the Hermitage museum. Started from a private collection of Catherine the Great, it is now the second-largest art museum that holds works of such famous artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Kandinsky, Picasso, etc.
After lunch get ready for the sightseeing tour with stops at Palace Square, the Spilled Blood Cathedral, the Kazan Cathedral, the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, the Admiralty, the cruiser Aurora, and many other places of interest.
DAY 6 – Royal Summer Residences
Today we are going to explore famous towns in the suburbs of the city. Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) was home to the Russian Royal family. The Catherine Palace was build and furnished to meet the high standards of luxury and taste of that time. It is famous for the Amber Room which was called the 8th wonder of the world before it disappeared during the 2nd World War. Now we can see its skillfully made reproduction.
After lunch we set for Peterhof, also called “Russian Versailles”. The fountains of the park amaze everyone with their beauty, especially the breathtaking Samson Fountain with a water jet going up and reaching a height of 21 meters. All in all, there are more than 140 fountains in the park, each unique and unforgettable. We will also enter the Grand Palace where the Royal family used to live and feel the atmosphere of the luxury of that time.
DAY 7 – City’s Landmarks and Dinner with Folkshow
This day will start with breathtaking views that you will enjoy during a Neva River Canals cruise. You will discover the city from the river and see the main sights from a different perspective.
After the cruise, we will explore a monastery built in the 18th century, Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra. Many famous Russians are buried there. In the second part of the day, we will go to Peter and Paul’s Fortress. The skyline of the fortress with its tall spire has become one of the city symbols.
After entering Saint Isaac’s Cathedral we head to a farewell dinner. It will take place in Nickolaevsky Palace. A delicious dinner will be followed by a Folklore show. Enjoy traditional Russian music and dances.
DAY 8 – Last Minute Sightseeing and Shopping
Now you can explore the city by yourself and do some last-minute shopping. Then you will be transferred to the airport. Now it’s time to say goodbye to Russia. Hope to see you again!
